The Author

I'm a senior about to graduate from the University of Michigan, enrolled in the Literature, Science, and the Arts program. My major is in communications, with a minor in writing. My passions lie in entertainment and fashion and spend all year looking forward to the first Monday in May, when the annual Met Gala takes place. I enjoy analyzing celebrities' attire on the red carpet, yet, I have noticed little to no recognition for the designer and the process that went into creating these elaborate designs. Therefore, I wanted to take time to highlight the behind-the-scenes process of what makes a red carpet look. While we may be quick to critique what we see on the carpet, we actually have no idea the intricate process that went into creating this look. Welcome to Steps to the Met!
